After overcoming years of self-doubt and performance anxiety, Melanie Herrera emerged onto the indie pop scene during 2022. Her latest single, Call You Baby, is about that transitional moment when a friendship or flirtation feels like it might become something more. She wrote the song in her bedroom to a YouTube track tagged “Griff x Renee Rapp,” and the vibe totally delivers.
With production by the brilliant Tiger Darrow, the song transformed into a polished, emotionally honest pop track that still keeps its personal, late-night energy. It’s what you play when you’re overthinking a text or rereading an old one.
