If Dolly Parton moved to the Danish countryside, and wrote lullabies for adults, you’d get Selina Gin’s Oh My Heart. Warm as fresh-baked rye bread and just as rustic, it’s a swoon of love for her daughter.
Selina says that this song literally wrote itself – it just came to her and her husband (co-writer), in a way she had never experienced before.
I love the arrangement. There’s a rootsy twang that nods to Americana, but it never loses its Danish indie soul. Selina Gin’s honeyed, crystal-clear vocals shine brightly.
