Canadian singer-songwriter Alanna Matty shares the second single from her upcoming album Epilogue, titled Last. Written in the wake of her marriage ending, it’s about learning to stand on your own before falling for someone again. The track kicks off by featuring a stripped-back rubber bridge guitar and slowly swells into warm harmonies, slide guitar and piano. I love how unhurried it sounds, echoing someone putting themselves back together.
If this song is anything to go by, Epilogue promises to be Alanna’s most heartfelt and confident work yet, and I’m genuinely excited to hear more!
