ÊMIA is the indie-pop project of Vietnamese-American, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter and producer, Anh Le. Her latest release, Corinne, came out recently. It unpacks a lifelong pattern of comparison, one that started “just that kid from the cold midwest.” The lyrics are very well-written, making listening to them exciting.
Instead of punchy, synthetic 808s, the beat comes from a used acoustic drum kit, giving the rhythm a warmer, more human feel. The vocals are beautifully balanced and have a great level of harmony.
