Eve Maret (sounds like “muh-ray”) is a Nashville-based experimental artist and composer. She releases Break the Chain as part of her upcoming album Diamond Cutter. It’s about the space where you’re tough enough to feel everything and wise enough to not let it define you. The diamond cutter, after all, is the only thing hard enough to shape a diamond. Sometimes you have to be your own diamond cutter.
Deep? Absolutely. But Maret packages these existential truths in production that makes you want to move your body, which feels like the entire point. Healing doesn’t have to look like sitting still.
