British musician Konyikeh returned with her new single Mercenary. The target is specific lyrically. People who flaunt their ethics like a badge until something shinier comes along, and then silently abandon everything they claimed to stand for. Konyikeh isn’t screaming about it. She’s cooler than that. The vocals are precise and controlled while the harmonies behind her go full cinematic, eerie and swelling like the score to a scene where someone finally gets what they deserve.
