Seven Years is Aimee Lefkowicz’s new single, and it completely charms. It talks about a pact between two people who are clearly already together, but haven’t expressed it explicitly.
The lyrics do something genuinely funny and genuinely tender at the same time. “What gives you the right to my hand if you’re just my friend?” is a great line. “Silly boy, I would take you today” is an even better one. By the time the bridge arrives and the penny drops, you’re completely on Aimee’s side.
The production of this song rocks. It blends indie folk and pop textures with country ones in such a unique way. The vocals are wonderful because they radiate true personality.
Check out Seven Years below! And silly boys everywhere, take notes.
