Rising singer-songwriter Aly Navarro releases her new single DNR. It looks back on a relationship she was in. “I learned that he was not who I originally thought he was, and when I decided that I did not deserve to feel the way he made me feel, that was when I wrote DNR with my co-writers [Makena Tate, Michael Leto],” says Navarro.
I love the production here, which features expressive vocals over acoustic guitar and banjo from Ethan Rounds, slide guitar from James Fall, and a rich undercurrent underneath. For fans of Lizzy McAlpine and Sara Bareilles, the comparisons are immediately clear.
