Cape Town-based singer-songwriter Tymicah releases her new single, possession. It deals with the fear of being abandoned and the instinct to stay ahead of that pain, to replace before you’re replaced.
The production is brilliant, founded on pushy bass and clean melodic layers that contribute to the track’s dark elegance. It never gets too heavy, but there’s a steady tension running through it that keeps everything slightly on edge. The vocals are calm and precise, almost detached at times.
