Gianna Mae, the highly expressive extrovert, is the next new artist set to blow the music industry away. Her new single, Girls Girl, embraces Y2K-inspired pop-rock to the fullest. I find the drumming and guitar playing throughout to be brilliant. The vocals also fit perfectly into the mix; certainly not overly fine-tuned, but delightfully raw.
Girls Girl follows an exaggerated character spiraling into obsession and delusion. Inspired by a real crush who had a girlfriend, the hook admits, “Lucky for her I’m a girls girl, or I’d steal her man”, an irony a true girls girl wouldn’t dare admit.
Gianna will be nothing but successful. Girls Girl is a bop track that needs to be heard everywhere this summer. Check it out below!
