søftbleach is a London-based indie alt-pop band formed at the end of 2024. Two months ago, they released their single, blue, which explores mental health and the seemingly endless cycle of negative thoughts that can feel almost impossible to escape. It has an angst yet also sad feeling to it to capture the desperation of trying to get out the rut!
The song’s production draws on elements of pop punk from the early 2000s, with subtle nods to Paramore and Avril Lavigne. I find the guitar work particularly brilliant throughout, but the drums are absolutely fantastic as well.
blue hits that sweet spot between emotional and catchy, making it an easy track to return to. Check it out below!
