Brooklyn-based artist Maria Lane takes a cinematic turn on her latest single, i don’t want another man, which talks about her trying to move on from someone who still occupies every corner of her thoughts. She fills the song with small, telling details, from kissing someone new and still thinking of her ex to checking his music to see how he’s feeling and remembering the late-night conversations they once shared. After six years of knowing someone and no longer being together, it can be hard to close the chapter and start again.
The production here is quite atmospheric, led by some interesting guitar playing. The vocals are lavishly layered, drawing great emphasis on the genuine emotions expressed in the narrative.
Maria really delivers with i don’t want another man. A beautiful and meaningful track that deserves a spot on your playlist. Check it out below!
