Poesie is a London-based, Brighton-born songstress, who exploded onto the indie scene last year with electropop banger, Hunter-Gatherer. London marks her first ballad, capturing the emotional toll of city life, from the pressure of constantly striving to the loneliness hidden beneath the surface. Amid the hustle and bustle, she longs for genuine connection.
I really like the sound this one has. A distorted soundscape of industrial atmosphere is complemented by dreamy guitar, warm organ, and whimsical clarinet. Poesie’s vocals sit beautifully within it all, making the refrain especially memorable. They’ll amaze you.
