Áslaug Vigfúsdóttir (born on August 11th, 1993) is an Icelandic singer, songwriter and music producer born in The Netherlands. Inspired by artists as The Japanese House, HAIM, MUNA and Lykke Li.
I’m Sorry is Áslaug’s amazing new single. I really like the dynamic 80s drums, polyphonic vocal arrangements and synths. Moreover, Áslaug’s vocals capture attention until the last note. She has such a powerful voice. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the unique rhythms.
Visuals were also made for I’m Sorry. The clip is very artistic and showcases fresh artistic visions.
Speaking about the track, Áslaug says: When you try to take control of your own life and happiness, disappointing other people is inevitable. As a person that somehow values other people’s opinions over her own, I have a hard time with this. It always makes me question my judgement and decisions. But when your gut speaks to you this clearly, the only thing you can do is listen, act on it and apologise afterwards. Apologise, not for the action itself but for the hurt you’ve caused. This song is an apology.”
