Hell or High Water is a sonic evolution, following Peta Mai her debut EP release, This Is Not About You (September 2018), which included single tracks Girl Code and After You.
I really like Hell or High Water. The melodies are unique and create multiple innovative musical landscapes full of new sounds. Besides, Peta her vocal performance is sublime, she knows to capture attention until the last note. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the rhythmic structures!
Speaking about the track, Peta says: ”This song comes from a more mature space than my previous releases – I’ve been learning about love my whole life, as we all are, and there’s been a lot of growing pains associated with that process. The key message of Hell or High Water is one that took me a long time to believe, and it’s this: we are all imperfect, but we are all worthy of being loved.”
