Saachi Sen is a Mumbai-born, London-grown indie-pop singer/songwriter. A past Resident Artist at the famous Camden Roundhouse, her writing has gained high level recognition, achieving PRS for Music’s Lynsey de Paul Prize, and winning places in Roundhouse/EMI’s ’30-30’ project album and the Young Songwriters Competition UK. She gigs regularly in London’s emerging music circuit, with highlights from the past year including Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings II festival, her first Sofar Sounds show, and playing to 10,000 people for Pride in London onstage in Trafalgar Square. She was also featured at King’s Cross’ summer concert series the Cubitt Sessions, and The Southbank Centre’s seminal South Asian arts festival, Alchemy.

Dark is Saachi’s new single and it sounds amazing. I really like the delicate vocals. Besides, the melodic construction is unique and showcases inventive techniques. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the grandiose chorus!
The lyrics are, just like the sound, very impressive. On the song, Saachi says: ”Dark is about loving everything that you are. I wrote it after realising that, although some people may treat me differently based on what I look like, I couldn’t let that make me feel anything other than proud of my ethnicity, or let those perceptions dictate who I was.” She continues: People who are different; whether we’re of colour, female, LGBTQ+, or anything else; are often seen as bad, lesser, ‘darker’ than those who aren’t. This song is for everyone, to say we should stay proud and embrace our darkness.”
Saachi has shared a powerful message on Dark. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!

Do not hesitate and add Dark to your playlist(s).
