BERG, full name Alexandra Berglöf, was born in Stockholm, Sweden. BERG grew up on a houseboat docked next to an amusement park. At the age of 5, she began intensive piano lessons under the strict supervision of a Romanian concert pianist. By 13, she was performing in concert halls around Stockholm. She also started singing and writing her own pop music and was scouted by producers, whilst studying to join a piano conservatory. But after a family tragedy, the family left Sweden and Berg temporarily left music behind. Berg bounced between schools until she landed in London, where she settled. Not until years later did she finally start opening herself up through music. Slowly she is trying to shatter the walls that she built in order to protect herself. She hopes by exposing these different personal moments and moods she can help others do the same.
Take off Your Disguise is the second single off of BERG’s debut album Fake Love and it sounds grandiose. I really like the intro section which showcases many artistic expressions. Besides, the construction of the chorus is amazing. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the unique vocals and rhythms!
Speaking about the meaning behind Take Off Your Disguise, BERG says: ”It is a song about revealing who you are & having the courage to stand out from the crowd.”
