Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
Between her honest songwriting and detailed proficiency on the guitar, McCall is the LA-based songstress quickly catching fire in the world of honest music. The 21-year-old’s feature in Fader Magazine led to collaborations with critically-acclaimed producers from the likes of MELVV, Myrne, and Grant, prompting a string of sold-out shows and continuously packed crowds.
Right? is McCall’s new single and it sounds amazing. I really like the sublime vocals which create grandiose landscapes. Moreover, the modern pop melodies showcase new innovative elements. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the dynamic chorus!
There is also made a music video for Right?. The visuals are captivating until the last second. McCall illustrates the meaning behind the track in a perfect way.
Speaking about the music video, McCall says: “Griffin Meyer and Ursula Bowling worked their asses off in 6 months of pre-production bringing this video together, and countless other people on this crew put their all into the two days of filming (Patrick Saulo DP, Yorgo Tzoytzoyrakos Gaffer, Shiran Chai MUA and Hair, and so many other people. Still shocked everyone was willing to dedicate their time for free). I could not be more grateful to everyone who worked on this, I would be nothing without all of them. I grew up in the Episcopal Church and I have nothing but love and respect for the community I came up in. Obviously the Church has been the source of infinite injustices, mass killings, sexual assaults, the list goes on and on. But the Church is also responsible for some of the most breathtaking artwork, music, and spiritual communities in history. I wanted to represent that side of myself while also demonstrating female strength and power. I had never seen a mass performed by all women until the second day of filming, and it felt amazing. Women are historically barred from higher positions at the church, so putting on the pope attire and sitting at the altar with a clergy of beautiful, strong females behind me felt so special.”
