Estherlivia (Esther Ribbstedt Österman), born 1997, started producing hip hop beats at home in the basement in Mariestad, Sweden, in year 2012. Self-taught she developed her own sound with elements of hip hop and electronica. In 2018 Estherlivia also started singing and writing by herself. Seemed like a winning concept – since she’s gained 10,000,000 plays since then.
Losing is Estherlivia’s new single and it sounds amazing. I really like the innovative pop melodies which showcase new artistic expressions. Besides, Estherlivia’s vocal performance is phenomenal, she has a very powerful voice. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the dynamic chorus!
Lyrically, Estherlivia knows to impress. She says about the meaning of the song: ”I wrote this song after Avicii’s death. It hit me way harder than I ever thought it would. I started thinking about my dreams and goals, and realized that my mental health should be prioritized.”
