Cara Walkam is an Australian singer/songwriter/poet known for her slinky solo project meadowhip. On Getting Messy, she chooses soulful R&B sounds as her backing. Swirling, hypnotic guitars, bright, jangly synths, and a luscious bass line enable the music to flow naturally. There’s a lot of energy during the chorus, which contrasts with the verses that are more chilled out. This keeps things interesting. Distinctive singing accents the performance.
