As a pivotal band of Montreal’s dream-pop scene, Lizzy and the Fanatic’s bilingual indie-pop has been featured in official playlists, Canadien television, and radio shows.
Middle Child is their new single.
The song sounds so good. I like the unique grooves. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the brilliant guitar work and 80’s nostalgia.
Lyrically, Lizzy delivers. She wrote the song after watching the 1995 movie Welcome to the Doll House. In this movie, the main character Dawn is a middle child who struggles for love and attention. Like this movie, the song encapsulates the coming of age feeling of wanting attention and dreaming about being ”the only one”.
The band’s art is on point. They make cool music.
Lizzy & the Fanatic’s up and coming EP Perfect World is out June 20th.
