Desta French is no stranger to defining her own voice. Following her storming COLORS performance and being subsequently championed by the likes of Noisey, Dummy, Notion (and more), Desta is now set to unveil her latest offering Aguanta (taken from her forthcoming San Lazarus EP).
The song sounds so good. I like the trap beats. Besides, the hooks are catchy. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the an atmospheric latin guitar riff.
Lyrically, Desta shines. The song is in Spanish.
Speaking about the track, the artist says: ”Growing up I never got the chance to see a U.K. artist releasing Latin Music in Spanish in the mainstream and I really wish I had for so many reasons, so really this just made me so happy. Big up all the Latinos here making music, I know for a fact there is a tonk wave approaching.”
The music video really captures the spirit of the song. Visually, it looks cool. The idea behind the clip was to highlight the lack of visibility of the Latino community in the U.K,” comments Desta.
Aguanta has all the ingredients of a hit. It deserves to be heard.
The song was produced by Morfius.
You can stream Aguanta on Spotify or YouTube!
