Kya Kyani comes from Amsterdam and currently lives in Berlin. She shares Party Underground, taken from her debut EP The Dao, out now. Clear vocals float above a production that features strong melodies and a soulful beat. Kyani brings a distinctive voice to the scene, blending elements of neo soul, alternative and trippy pop music. Black Prez contributes a rap verse to Party Underground with an excellent delivery.
Speaking about the meaning behind the track, Kyani said: ”Overthinking the way to hit on someone I really like. I come across as rough and rebellious, which I actually really am for the bigger part. But when it comes to love I get really shy. Therefore it also does not matter which sex.”
