Recently, Dutch band Dragonfruit released their fifth single, Know Better. The music is very soulful, combining many great elements to create a style that’s completely unlike anything else. Danique van der Vlugt’s vocals soar effortlessly over thick layered synthesizers and percussion. The chorus takes various new directions, it’s a bit more up-tempo than the verses.
Know Better is about seeking refuge in nightlife. Numbing yourself from feelings of stress, anxiety and pain through stimulants. You can run away from anything, but yourself. However, that realisation doesn’t always stop us from supressing our feelings.
Dragonfruit’s songs are always creative and contextually relevant. Know Better is no exception, and it should be on your playlist for a very long time. Listen below!
