There are so many different sounds present in the music of the Californian duo, Blood Honey. Their new single, Put You Out Like a Flame, has been well-produced. My favorite aspect of the vocals is the way they soar over gritty guitar, echoing percussion, and moody synths. The lyrics have an impressive quality to them.
Jackie shares, “As an Asian woman, I get stereotyped as being soft and submissive. In Put You Out Like a Flame, I’m turning the tables on that trope and owning my power.”
