Lonely, is the follow-up to Leeds-based pop newcomer Agi’s debut single, Crying Past Midnight. I believe its lyrics will resonate with people, since they’re relatable. Agi expresses her thoughts in a profound way. Energetic sonics, distinctive melodies, and a feel-good chanty chorus accompany the narrative.
“I wrote this song during the first lockdown when I was living alone. The thought of being alone for more than 2 or 3 days used to scare me and made me really uncomfortable.” – Agi explains.
“The bizarre experience of being stuck inside taught me to be okay with being by myself. It made me realise even when I’m feeling lonely, I’m never truly alone. Especially in lockdown, in a weird way, I felt more connected to people by the fact we all felt lonely.”
