Introducing: Temptress – Anxiety

London-based duo Temptress, comprised of Jess and Vlad, share their new single, Anxiety. Its sound takes influences from R&B/lo-fi. I appreciate the soothing beat, Spanish guitar, and heartfelt vocals. This production is remarkably well-balanced, making it always compelling.

The lyrics are direct in their meaning, Jess explains, “I wrote this song during lockdown… Life had slowed down, changed dramatically and provided time for reflection. The song is a cathartic release about my anxiety, and it’s been a long time coming.” A music video goes along with the narrative. The visual is set in an abandoned location presented as a hyperreal version of the world we live in, where seemingly no one else lives, like the mind of someone gripped by anxiety.

The importance of artists who talk about mental health cannot be overstated. It’s okay to not always be okay. Check out Anxiety below!
