Singer/songwriter Mikayla McLean is from Schenectady, New York. Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Miley Cyrus, and Hayley Williams are among her musical influences. She opts for a country pop sound with Fool!. I like the fast-paced instrumentation, as it’s catchy and gets you up and moving. Mikayla’s singing elevates the production even further.
Regarding the track, Mikayla says: ”Fool! is about a vulnerable time in my love life and my hope is that if others can relate to it, they can feel that they aren’t alone in feeling the wide range of emotions that they do, and offering a sense of solidarity in a reflection of uncertain, unhealthy love. I feel as though this song really represents who I am as an artist.”
Mikayla leaves leaves a strong impact by writing about heartbreak, abandonment, struggles, and mental illnesses, both in her prose and her songs. Check out Fool! below!
