The sound of Good Company marks a departure from AKA Lui’s two previous releases (Hey! I Don’t Want That Anyway, Pushing Me Aside) that felt more atmospheric. This song has a funky groove, which supports the melodic angle of this song. In order to complete the production, some nice vocals were added.
Lui explains the following about the track: “Good Company hits different to things I’ve done previously. We used a lot of analogue gear this time, it felt like a natural progression from the DIY bedroom productions I was making the last few years. I like that working with Kesmar enabled me to create something that feels more “AKA Lui” than the tracks I was making on my own. He understands the sound and the aesthetic and together we were able to bring that vision to life. It’s an epic new direction for AKA Lui & I can’t wait to share more.”
Good Company puts a modern spin on nostalgia. The music invites listeners to dance all day long. Check out the audio below!
