SVRCINA (born Molly Svrcina) made a name for herself as a Nashville-based singer-songwriter. With her fourth album, Orchards, she moves in a new musical direction that can only be praised. When you put all the songs together, you’ll notice a consistent quality, which makes it a great whole.
This project’s lead single, Cycles impresses with its unique sound. Several of the musical components are influenced by traditional Balkan and Polka music. Full of rich vocals and supported by exceptional production, Cycles is sure to delight fans of Julia Michaels and Imogen Heap alike.
The music video for Cycles features choreography inspired by traditional Polish, Hungarian, Russian and German dances. Bree Marie Fish directed the visual.
SVRCINA comments on the album: “Orchards is a metaphoric, colorful and vulnerable approach to matters of the heart and mind, will and emotions. Just as a fruitful orchard requires breaking ground in good soil, diligent caretakers, and allowing the natural process of growth to take place in its time, so our lives can mirror a beautiful story of healthy cultivation. Each one of our stories is unique with our personal experiences and how we‘re wired, but we are all designed to love and to be loved, and if we are willing, on this journey to become the best version of ourselves. Along the way, acknowledging the pain points, confronting bad habits, learning how to navigate unforeseen challenges, and then experiencing the joys of each breakthrough and season, we can be on the way to healing and being a whole person.”
SVRCINA composes only pieces that can be regarded as masterpieces. I think Cycles will speak to everyone. Let’s be honest, it’s one of the top pop songs of 2021. Check it out below!
