London-based RnB artist Sofie returned earlier this year to the music scene with a new sound. Her latest single, Independent, is composed of soft beats and soulful melodies. She places strong vocals over the production gracefully. Lyrics are empowering in their tone.
This song tells the story of a close friend going through a break-up and realising the person in question will be better off without that relationship because they would find their independence again. According to Sofie, everyone can relate to Independent in some way.
Sofie draws inspiration from artists like Joy Crookes and Jorja Smith, but she also adds her own flair to her works. A song like Independent proves that. You may wonder, but it’s already a classic. Check out the audio below!
