With her music, Maddie Park, a contemporary R&B pop artist and Korean American, finds harmony amidst the chaos. lilies, her latest single, presents soothing sounds and superb production. The ocals stand out for their clarity and flow. I like the tone of them, because they bring you back to reality briefly. The lyrics are an enticing combination of thought and wisdom.
Maddie says about the song: ”’lilie was born from the lyric ‘I’m sorry that I’m not you, I’m sorry that I am.’ It’s the exhaustion that comes from wishing you didn’t exist, the daydream of a wake and lilies that will lay you, finally, to rest.”
