Sister Void’s journey to learn to love herself and accept her vulnerabilities is portrayed in blink. The song seems inspired by the idea of time moving so quickly that we barely get to blink before it’s over. Rather than dwelling on the past, we should be running into the weeds and enjoying the present.
The present moment is all we have. It’s a cliche, but it’s true. The past is gone and the future has not yet come. The only moment we can experience is right now. And yet, so many of us spend our days worrying about the future or regretting the past. We’re so busy planning for what’s to come that we forget to enjoy what’s happening now. When we’re in the present moment, we’re fully alive. We’re able to experience life to the fullest and connect with those around us. So why not make an effort to enjoy the present moment more? It’s the only thing we can rely on.
The vocals of Sister Void are incredibly heartfelt and echo the lyric’s sentiment. I like listening to blink while traveling or while I’m working on something. It gives me motivation and makes me think about making the most of my life.
