The 2020 lockdown was something that a lot of people weren’t prepared for. The sudden cancellation of so many events and the frustration of being stuck at home brought about a lot of unhappiness. This is what inspired REY’s debut single, IM NOT FEELING ALRIGHT. In the song, she talks about how the lockdown affected her and how it caused her to lose her mind.
The tune is hauntingly powerful, with a production that accurately depicts the feeling of loneliness and despair. You can really hear the pain and emotion in Rey’s voice as she sings the lyrics out loud. It’s very moving to hear. The verses are gritty and provide some necessary insight into what Rey has been going through. The chorus really gets to the heart of the matter.
REY’s IM NOT FEELING ALRIGHT reminds us of how challenging 2020 was. Things certainly didn’t go as planned. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you still don’t feel well. It can be really helpful to express yourself to a close friend, for example. Hearing this song will certainly make you less isolated. You’ll realize that more people are on the same boat as you. We all lose our minds sometimes, and that’s totally natural.
