Lydia Kaseta’s latest release, The Other Side (As The Sun Comes Up), is an acoustic/string ballad that achieves the purest organic sound. Guitar melodies are prominent here, and the track altogether feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s light, airy and free from any electronic elements that often dominate music today. It doesn’t employ digital manipulation at all.
In a time where it seems like it’s more urgent than ever to be authentic, The Other Side (As The Sun Comes Up) is a much-needed reminder that it’s okay to be yourself, no matter who or what’s trying to stop you. All of us should ask ourselves who we want to be. The answer might change over time, but it’s important to have a sense of self-awareness and know who you are at your core. When someone tries to put us in a box or tells us that we can’t be ourselves, it’s important to stand up for ourselves and confront them. With confidence in ourselves, we can stand up to anyone and anything that comes our way.
