Introducing: Davis West x Sophie Sutton – Point of You

If you’re not familiar with the term “bedroom pop,” it refers to a style of music that’s typically soft, mellow and intimate. It’s often acoustic and stripped-down, with simple production values. Bluegrass, on the other hand, is a genre of music that originated in the southern United States. It’s known for its fast tempos and virtuosic soloing, as well as its unmistakable sound. When you put these two genres together, the¬†outcome is truly remarkable.

Point of You is a love letter to bedroom pop and bluegrass. The mix of raw, percussive fiddle and electronic beats is nothing short of adventurous. I was hesitant at first, but I was won over quickly. The fiddle provides a raw, earthy sound that is reminiscent of bluegrass, while the electronic beats give the track a bedroom pop feel. Oh, and the vocals sound great, too.
