Australian singer-songwriter RIIKI REID wrote The Dream State for a few reasons. First and foremost, she believes that dreams are underrated and undervalued. It’s likely most of us have never really taken the time to explore what happens when we close our eyes and drift off to sleep. Dreams are often seen as irrelevant or nonsensical, but RIIKI thinks they offer a glimpse into another world- one that is just as real as the one we experience while awake. Dreams can be incredibly creative, showing us possibilities and ideas that we would never have thought of while conscious. They can also provide insights into our subconscious minds, giving us a better understanding of ourselves. Finally, RIIKI thinks that dreams are fascinating, and she wanted to share that fascination with others by writing a song about them.
