Introducing: Erin Bloomer – Therapy

We’ve all heard the phrase “it’s okay to not be okay.” But what does that mean, exactly? It means that it’s okay to feel pain, to feel lost, to feel scared, and to not have it all together. In today’s society, we’re constantly told that we need to be perfect. We need to have a perfect job and a perfect life. And if we don’t have those things, then we’re unsuccessful. We’re told that we’re not good enough. But that’s not true. We are all good enough, just as we are.

The stigma attached to mental health is one that needs to be broken. Too many people feel like they’re alone and that they have to deal with their problems on their own. This isn’t the case. Getting help is a great idea, and it’s definitely not a sign of weakness. In fact, asking for a second opinion can be incredibly beneficial. That’s what 20-year-old singer-songwriter Erin Bloomer is trying to teach with her latest song, Therapy. It holds up a mirror and says we should talk more about mental health, in a positive and fun way.
