Singer-songwriter Meera Blackburn sees her latest single be as an anthem for anyone feeling scared and paranoid about falling in love. It’s raw and emotive, exploring the fear of abandonment and the uncertainty that often accompanies new relationships. For Blackburn, writing be was a way of working through her own struggles with falling in love. She hopes that listeners will be able to relate to the song’s vulnerability and find comfort from it.
While each individual aspect of the track may not be strictly 80s, when combined, they produce a sound that’s undeniably influenced by the decade. The addictive bass line in particular is a nod to the 80s style, given its funky vibe.
