Some scars are easy to hide, but others are more visible and harder to forget. No matter how much you wish you could go back and change things, you can’t. You have to learn to live with them.
The lyrics of Cassidy Taylor’s new single, Clean, are absolutely moving, but they’re also so relevant. The song is about toxic masculinity and the way that it can strip away someone’s sense of control. Cassidy’s rage-filled vocals contrast brilliantly against the macho, mainly vibe of the production.
Clean encourages us to acknowledge that we need to start talking about toxic masculinity openly and honestly. So we can begin to dismantle it piece by piece.
