But Am I Broken is also stamped with Meadowhip’s trademark self-deprecation and sarcasm. This light-heartedness makes the song more approachable.
The instruments used on Am I Broken were chosen specifically to create an impactful soundscape that would support Meadowhip’s vocals. The guitars were recorded with a lo-fi effect to give them a hazy quality, while the trumpet was played with a 1940s-inspired sound to add a touch of old-school glamor.
