When you’re listening to Alexa Cappelli’s new single, Temporary, think about the mixed emotions that come with breaking off a ”situationship.”
On one hand, there’s relief. You’re finally free of this person who’s been taking up your time. But on the other hand, there’s sadness. You had invested so much energy into this relationship, and it’s hard to let go.
Temporary is about that limbo state you sometimes find yourself in after a break-up. You’re not quite sure what to do with yourself. You don’t want to be alone, but you also don’t want to be with that person anymore. It’s a feeling of being stuck in between two worlds.
But here’s the thing: you deserve better. You deserve someone who wants to be with you, not someone who’s just going through the motions. Temporary also makes this point clearly.
Alexa’s vocals are stunning here. They flow smoothly over bright guitar melodies and punchy drum beats. This is a song that I can see becoming a hit in the future. It’s already gaining a lot of traction online, and I’ve no doubt that it will continue to grow in popularity.
