You might have heard the saying “life is a journey, not a destination.” It’s a cliché, but it’s also true. No matter what you do, you’re going to face some challenges in life. There’s no way to get around it.
And when those challenges come up, it can be tempting to just close your eyes and ignore them. But does that actually help? And is it even possible to get away from reality?
Veya (aka Eva Scheltema) asks these questions and others in her new song, Escape the World. She invites the listener to see things through a more conceptual perspective.
The track takes inspiration from artists such as Aurora and Phoebe Bridgers. I find the whole thing to be quite fascinating. It starts off very minimalistic and then slowly transforms into a full-on pop anthem. Veya’s hypnotic violin playing will mesmerize you.
Escape the World was released along with the artist’s debut EP. So don’t forget to check that out as well.
