Emei is bringing back the days of 2000s rock-princess glamor with her single End of an Era. She has a flair for specifically niche and current lyrics, and yet she manages to blend them seamlessly with a nostalgic pop-punk sound. With polished grit, her vocals lure you into her vibrant universe. The electric guitar drives the force of this anthem, but Emei’s razor sharp wit is what transforms it into an infectious number full of life and personality.
It’s no surprise Emei has harnessed her stage presence as she’s amassed a large following in only a few short years; and it’s clear why. The songstress’ performance origins date back to her days on Chinese Idol at only fifteen years old. Her unabashed playfulness is the result of years of hard, dedicated work fueled by an undeniable love of songwriting and storytelling. End of an Era absolutely measures up to (and possibly surpasses) other current female artists within the same genre. It’s a melting pot of charming character and talent. What a rarity it is nowadays within this industry to come across not only artists, but performers like Emei.
