Depression is something that a lot of people don’t like to talk about, but NYC-based singer/songwriter Kimberly Townsend is breaking the silence with her new demo, Plexiglass. It explores depression through a gentle but unflinchingly honest, raw lens.
When I listen to this song, I can picture myself sitting outside, watching the sky turn pink in the evening. The acoustic guitar arrangement is so soothing, and it really helps to calm the mind.
Kimberly’s vocals have a natural quality that’s hard to find nowadays. She didn’t use any fancy editing tricks or overdubs; she just sang her heart out and let her emotions flow.
Plexiglass keeps you hooked until the very end. You won’t find a better song to get you through tough times than this one.
