It’s normal to get lost in your thoughts every now and then, but sometimes we take it a little too far. Delusions and fantasies can be fun to escape into, but they can also be dangerous. Teather explores this theme in her new single, Preoccupied.

The song describes a one-sided romance that exists only in the singer’s head. Teather has deluded herself into thinking that the other person feels the same way about her as she does about them. She becomes almost obsessed with the idea.

The instrumentation on Preoccupied plays a vital role in the interpretation of the meaning behind this single. The heavy, oppressive bass and cacophony of pensive humming translate Teather’s message into a physical form – allowing her fans to hear what she yearns for.
