When most people think of Los Angeles, they think of Hollywood and the glamor and glitz that comes with it. It’s the city of dreams; where seemingly anyone can become a millionaire overnight and there are no limits to success.
But what’s often overlooked is the other side of Los Angeles: the side that’s gritty and demanding, you’ve to work hard to stay ahead of the curve here. It requires discipline and tremendous dedication- especially if you’re trying to make it in an industry as competitive as Hollywood.
In her new single Play the Part, Slower Power gives an honest portrayal of Los Angeles, addressing both the pros and cons. Ultimately, she encourages us to forge our own path and not be swayed by the crowds – the only way to truly feel satisfied in LA.
Play the Part begins with a basic guitar line which gradually increases with the inclusion of different instruments. This approach gives a feeling of progression throughout the song as it slowly builds to its climax at the chorus.
I think Play the Part will get high praise for its lyrical and musical depth. Check it out below!
