Montreal-based composer Alexandra Stréliski always strives for excellence. Élégie, from her upcoming album, Néo-Romance, has its own unique charm. The piano arrangement here sounds striking, and the gorgeous, plaintive violin makes the heart sing.
Élégie represents the challenge of facing your vulnerability when everything around you seems to be falling apart. Alexandra worked on it with the wonderful Karski Quartet in Paris on a beautiful summer day. Despite being written during a period of heartbreak, it was finished with great happiness.
