Anywhere Else is the third single to emerge from Gold Spectacles’ upcoming EP, More Heart than Sense. It feels striking and has the quirky sound the duo has become known for. Instruments such as the Spanish guitar steal the show here, giving the ambience a bright, light feel.
Gold Spectacles wrote Anywhere Else on their first trip abroad since the pandemic, when they didn’t want to return home. In tapas bars and on the metro, they pieced together the lyrics. The desire to escape everything mundane was overwhelming, and the thought of running away never seemed so good. As soon as the duo got back to London, they headed to the studio immediately.
