Maggie Baring is a 20 year old, UK-based singer-songwriter. She releases her new single, Glass Ceiling. It talks about the struggle between wanting to stay emotionally open and vulnerable in relationships, while also fearing the pain and loss that comes along with that. Baring is worried that she will lose parts of herself every time she gives her heart to someone and that she may eventually becomes numb or unfeeling to protect herself.
Glass Ceiling has a vibrant feel, with multiple vocal parts blending together in a full, resonant way. The strumming of the guitar produces a thick, cozy sound that’s nicely matched by some synthetic musical decorations sprinkled throughout.
